Product Description

Bacopa monnieri is one of Ayurveda's premier herbs that has been used for thousands of years to support normal memory function, neuron communication, stable mood and to rejuvenate the nervous system. It belongs to a group of herbs known for Nootropic (supporting cognitive enhancement) properties. Bacopa is also an adaptogenic herb which means it can help the body adapt to a new or stressful situation and to cope with anxiety. Bacopa is also an antioxidant. There are numerous Bacopa products sold around the world and I set out to find the very best. Nature's Answer's Bacopa stood out. I first read about Bacopa in an article by American Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock and being a baby boomer keen to maintain optimal brain function I decided to take Bacopa. Bacopa is a genus of 70–100 aquatic plants belonging to the family Plantaginaceae. It’s native to India, where it grows in marshy regions. In the West, it’s a water plant often found in aquariums. Bacopa species are found in tropical and subtropical regions of the world, particularly the Americas. Most parts of the plant have been used traditionally, but modern preparations are extracts of the stem and leaves. The type traditionally used in herbal medicines is Bacopa monniera or Bacopa monnieri. It’s also commonly called Brahmi and water hyssop as well. The leaves contain saponins, including bacosides that are believed to be responsible for the properties of the herb.
